Elected officials and staff from San Joaquin Valley regional planning agencies are meeting with federal legislators this week during their “Valley Voice” visit to Washington, D.C., on Wednesday and Thursday.
In a release, the San Joaquin Valley Regional Policy Council says it will advocate for increased federal funding for transportation related projects throughout the San Joaquin Valley. The group will also be addressing improvements to the new federal transportation bill MAP-21, air quality, and other topics.
The group will be meeting with various California legislators including Sens. Barbara Boxer and Dianne Feinstein and Congressmen David Valadao, R-Hanford, Jerry McNerney, D-Stockton, Jim Costa, D-Fresno, and Jeff Denham, R-Turlock.
