‘Robin Hood’ supporters turn out

Photographer Eric Paul Zamora checked out a protest Monday in Fresno and supplied this report:

About a dozen people, most wearing Robin Hood-style hats, turned out Monday afternoon on a curb outside Rep. Jim Costa’s office in downtown Fresno on Monday afternoon.

The group was supporting National Nurses United, who are urging Congress and the White House to pass the “Robin Hood” tax as well as opposing further cuts to Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid during the fiscal cliff negotiations, said Christina Swift, a labor representative for the California Nurses Association of National Nurses United.

Swift said the group would continue from 4 p.m. through 6 p.m. Tuesday.
